Three Former USC Trojans Playing in the NFL


A mortgage and loan professional with over 15 years of experience, Diana Irene Dibble is a branch manager with Los Angeles-based Home Community Mortgage, a joint venture between KB Home and Nationstar Mortgage. When not managing a staff of loan originators, Diana Irene Dibble enjoys watching college football. She especially enjoys following the University of Southern California (USC) football program. 

As of the start of the 2016 National Football League (NFL) season, there was 36 former USC players on NFL rosters. Below are three of the more prominent alumnus.

1. Carson Palmer: A three-time Pro Bowler, Palmer was selected first overall in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and played seven seasons with the team. He later played two seasons in Oakland and has spent the past four years in Arizona. Throughout his 13-year career, the quarterback has a win-loss record of 89-84-1 and has completed 285 touchdown passes and 44,269 passing yards.

2. Clay Matthews: The 26th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Matthews has spent his entire eight-year career with the Green Bay Packers. The six-time Pro Bowl linebacker has 72.5 quarterback sacks, 13 forced fumbles, and six interceptions in his career.

3. Robert Woods: A native of Gardena, California, Woods was drafted 41st overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Through four seasons with the team, the wide receiver recorded 12 touchdowns and 2,451 receiving yards. He recently signed a five-year, $39 million contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
